Practitioner survey: Am I living my potential as a coach?

Practitioner survey: Am I living my potential as a coach?

Working as a coach can be a lonely endeavour. There is no standard formula for developing your business, and it is often challenging to confidently know how you perform relative to your peers. As coaches we all benefit from learning from each other, and we have designed this practitioner survey to do just that. Not only do we want to understand your best practices, we hope that it will also provide insights into your own potential development areas as you grow your coaching business and practice.

Since 2012, the good coach has been working with over 100 coaches worldwide to understand better how we practice and experience coaching in our various markets; and as a community support each other and raise the standard of coaching. To date, we have published over 350 blogs, 3 books and 1 magazine, and reached nearly 58,000 practitioners.

We want to continue delivering on our vision in 2021 by asking you to participate in our practitioner survey on the current state of good coaching practices which draws upon the insights from the good coach community knowledge base.

By participating in this unique survey, we hope that you will be able to:

  • Benchmark your business and practice against peers AND engage in a personal development exercise to further your coaching professionalism. [Download your results at the end of the survey]

  • Have your voice heard of what works for you and your market AND see how it fits in with the diversity of coaching service providers, worldwide. [Request the report at the end of the survey]

  • Contribute your experience and knowledge AND know that they are included in building a working consensus of good coaching practice.

There are 45 questions to answer in 20 to 30 minutes, covering 3 areas: coaching practice, what you think it takes to be a professional coach and some general demographic questions. The survey has now been extended by two weeks to end on the 12th March 2021, (original end date 28th February 2021), after which we will analyse and write up the results and send a copy of the report to those who requested one.

 Our Top tips:

  1. For the most enjoyable experience we recommend that you take this survey from a wide screen on your desktop/laptop with a refreshing drink next to you. This survey works as well on a tablet and mobile though a little more patience is asked for as you scroll down some of the questions which have more choices to choose from.

  2. To make it even more fun/refreshing, as you begin the survey imagine you're about to begin a (structured self-reflective) laser coaching session. By the end of your 20/30 minute session, we hope you will have found it an engaging experience. What do you hope to have achieved?
